A Perm man has been arrested for five days for selling a book by Goebbels

In Perm, a 57-year-old man who was selling extremist literature on the square near the Perm-II railway station was arrested for five days, the transport police of Perm Krai report.

The man was detained on October 2 while selling the book for 2,300 rubles. At the police station, the publication was seized from him, and officers established that the work is included in the list of extremist materials and on the list of literature banned on the territory of the Russian Federation.

“The Perm resident explained that he owns a large home library and does not know the contents of all the books. He had been building his collection over a long period, bought this particular book many years ago, and did not know that it was classified as extremist literature,” police quoted the detainee’s position as saying.

The Perm resident was selling the book Diaries of 1945. The Last Entries. Its author is Joseph Goebbels, one of Adolf Hitler’s closest associates, a politician and propagandist. The work was added to the federal list of extremist materials in 2011.
