“I walk in pain as if on burning coals” Political prisoner Alexander Shestun reported a pre-heart-attack condition

Alexander Shestun reported a sharp deterioration in his health. He is on hunger strike, has lost more than 20 kilograms, and his blood pressure is far below normal — yet for more than a month he has been examined only by a paramedic, and no treatment has been prescribed. According to the political prisoner, he was given an ultimatum: either he ends the hunger strike, or he remains without medical care.

“They are not giving me any pills, not even my own personal ones Ultimatum: if you don’t end the hunger strike, there will be no medical help. My ankles have been swollen for more than a week, they don’t fit into my boots, and they have already started turning black. I walk in pain as if on burning coals. Critical blood, urine, ECG, and ultrasound readings — acute coronary syndrome — that is practically a heart attack. And also acute heart failure,” Shestun wrote.

Earlier, Shestun had been promised hospitalization at a hospital in Torzhok, but on October 5 he was told there were supposedly no beds. Today he was nevertheless hospitalized as an emergency case.
