At Estonia’s request, the European Union removed a Russian company and a related individual from the draft 22nd sanctions package against Russia. ERR reports this, citing Kerstin Lepik, press secretary of Estonia’s representation in Brussels.
According to her, the company supplies materials to the Estonian enterprise NPM Silmet. The name of the Russian supplier and the name of the person connected to it are not being disclosed.
“The company supplies Estonia-based NPM Silmet with materials that are strategically important for Europe,” Lepik said, specifying that European manufacturers of electric vehicles and wind turbines, as well as companies in the electronics, automotive, and aviation industries, depend on these supplies.
