A “significant” part of Kyiv and the region was left without power because of a Russian drone attack. The metro in the capital temporarily stopped operating

“Ukrenergo” reports this.

“As a result of an attack by Russian drones, several elements of the power grid that supplied electricity to part of the city of Kyiv and Kyiv region were disconnected. As a result, a significant share of consumers in the region is currently without power,” the company noted.

Kyiv Mayor Vitali Klitschko also reported damage to an “energy facility” in Kyiv region. Because of this, the city is “experiencing interruptions in water supply.”

In addition, metro and escalator operations in Kyiv were suspended for about an hour. Train service has now resumed, but with longer intervals, the Kyiv city administration said.

“Due to interruptions in electricity supply, electric transport has been temporarily suspended in the Holosiivskyi district, as well as in parts of Kyiv’s Solomianskyi, Shevchenkivskyi, and Pecherskyi districts,” they noted.
