In Moscow, the head of one Defense Ministry department was detained over a bribe, RBC reports
Three sources in law enforcement agencies told the outlet about this.
The case concerns Sergei Zakamorny, head of the Defense Ministry’s Forestry and Natural Resource Management Directorate. He has been charged with receiving a bribe on an especially large scale.
According to RBC’s sources, the criminal case against Zakamorny was opened on October 8, and he was detained the same day. The next day, Moscow’s Khamovnichesky District Court placed him in custody for two months.
Investigators believe the official received a bribe of more than 10 million rubles for “general patronage of a commercial entity,” the outlet’s sources say.
After his detention, mention of Zakamorny as head of the directorate was removed from the Defense Ministry website.
