Pavel Krisevich’s Wife Has Left Russia and Is Safe
Pavel Krisevich’s wife has left Russia and is safe
Elena Morgunova, the wife of action artist Pavel Krisevich, has left Russia after two consecutive arrests and pressure from the FSB.
“I had been in silent mode, but now Lena is completely safe together with our dog Celine,”
Krisevich wrote.
The artist also thanked everyone for their support and for drawing public attention to the case.
“Without all of this, things would have been much harder for Lena and me. We are now going to continue going through a difficult emotional period, but I am sure we will cope, because at least now the threat of new repression is not hanging over us,”
the action artist added.
In August, Morgunova temporarily returned from France to Russia to visit her parents. She was detained and given ten days of arrest for “disobeying police,” and on the day of her release she was detained again and given another 14 days.
According to her lawyer, security officers threatened Morgunova and her parents, abused the dog Celine, and FSB officers demanded access to personal correspondence and “operational assistance.”
