Ozon will stop insuring sellers’ goods against drone attacks

Russian marketplace Ozon announced that, starting October 13, the Ingosstrakh insurance program for sellers against mass damage to goods and drone attacks will be discontinued.

The company explained the decision as being due to “changes in the terms of coverage for certain risks.” The marketplace’s press service told RIA Novosti that this insurance program had been the only available option for Ozon sellers.

The insurance will continue to operate until midnight on October 12: “active policies protect your goods against all risks provided for under the contract.” After that, all policies in personal accounts will become unavailable, and insurance payments will no longer be charged.

“All sellers who had insurance connected at the time of incidents at facilities will receive payouts for their goods; absolutely nothing is changing in this regard, so there is no need to worry. If other insured events occur before the insurance is switched off, payouts for them will also be made,” the marketplace said.
