The Ukrainian president made this proposal in an interview with ABC News in response to Trump's remark that Ukraine needs a new president.

With all due respect to President Trump, it is our society, our people, who must choose the leader. Tell Putin: give us two months, 60 days of a full ceasefire, and we will organize elections,

Zelensky said.

🔵Zelensky had already put forward this condition earlier: in February, at the Munich Security Conference, he said Ukraine was ready to hold elections under a two-month ceasefire. Later, in an interview with Axios, he said that Russia had agreed only to a one-day ceasefire.
