Ukraine will hold elections if Putin agrees to a 60-day truce, Zelensky says
The president of Ukraine said this in an interview with ABC News journalist Jonathan Karl.
And if President Trump really wants some kind of changes in the course of elections, I have already discussed this with his team. So, please, tell Putin: give us two months, 60 days of respite. A full ceasefire for 60 days, and we will organize elections. Of course, we will be ready to accept any choice made by our people, specifically the Ukrainian people.
The day before, Trump, speaking with journalists, suggested that Ukraine “choose a new president” who would be able to “make a deal.”
