Two-time winner of the “People’s District Police Officer” contest arrested in bribery case

The Privokzalny District Court of Tula arrested 30-year-old Ekaterina F., deputy head of the “Bogoroditsky” district police officers’ department, for one month and 29 days, “Ostorozhno, Novosti” writes.

Investigators believe that in October she promised a man that, for 200,000 rubles, she would arrange for no criminal case to be opened against his son over fake driver’s licenses. The man contacted law enforcement, and then handed over the money. After that, Ekaterina was detained; she now faces up to 12 years in prison.

In 2023 and 2024, Ekaterina won the regional stage of the “People’s District Police Officer” contest and represented Tula Region at the federal level. According to her, she had worked in the police for nine years, and residents most often came to her with everyday complaints — for example, about noisy neighbors.

I really like my job because I love helping people,

she said.

In 2024, the region’s police wrote that Ekaterina quickly “became one of their own for the residents of the precinct.” According to the department, people came to her not only for consultations: “Some simply feel lonely, want to talk, hear the news, and share their problems.”
