Radio Free Europe/Radio Liberty’s Balkan Service and the investigative project Systema found among the staff of the Russian embassy in Serbia a diplomat who was declared persona non grata in Bulgaria back in 2021 amid an investigation into explosions at arms depots
The person in question is assistant military attaché Alexander Krasiy. Before ending up in Serbia, Krasiy held a similar position at the embassy in Bulgaria. In April 2021, Bulgaria’s Foreign Ministry announced the expulsion of a Russian diplomat without naming him. The agency Zona News and Bulgarian National Television established that it was Krasiy who had been expelled from the country.
