A mephedrone dealer with seven convictions shot dead six drone reconnaissance operators in the “special military operation.” One of those killed served in a secret FSB unit
A court in Donetsk is hearing a criminal case against Russian serviceman Alexey Korolyov, who is accused of murdering two or more people and large-scale extortion. As The Insider found out, he is a repeat offender who went to the front from a penal colony, where he was serving an 11-year sentence in a case involving large batches of mephedrone. The Ukrainian project “I Want to Live” previously named him as the person responsible for shooting six fellow servicemen in Kharkiv Region.
The Insider confirmed that all six alleged victims died on the same day, October 25, 2025. According to “I Want to Live,” the dead served in a reconnaissance company, which is partially confirmed, but The Insider discovered a much more curious detail: Rodion Kravets, who was killed by the former prisoner, served in the highly classified 16th FSB Center, which conducts signals intelligence and organizes cyberattacks.
Alexey Korolyov, who likely caused the deaths of the six reconnaissance drone operators, began his criminal career in the early 2000s. He was found guilty of muggings, armed robberies, thefts, fraud, and hooliganism. On November 16, 2023, he was sentenced to 11 years in a special-regime penal colony in a case involving a group that dealt in supplies of large batches of mephedrone and alpha-PVP. But just a year later he was already free and holding a weapon. Now Alexey Korolyov is once again in a pretrial detention center, awaiting sentencing on charges of murder and extortion.
