The head of MI5 said that Russia is waging a “hybrid war” in Europe amid minimal successes in Ukraine

Britain’s counterintelligence service is now devoting more resources to countering state threats than it did during the Cold War, MI5 chief Ken McCallum said.

According to him, Russia remains “aggressor number one” and is trying to wage a “hybrid war” in Europe. McCallum said Russia is trying to destabilize European countries while its progress in the war with Ukraine is “minimal and extremely costly.”

Authorities in a number of European countries have previously said that Russian officials are trying to stage acts of sabotage in order to intimidate Ukraine’s allies.
