I’ll just leave this here for history.

Russia violated the ceasefire and attacked Ukraine.

I’m not sure. We’ll see. But all I know is that Zelensky and Putin need to get together and end this ridiculous war.

You announced a ceasefire, but neither side agreed to it. (Ukraine agreed, for what it’s worth).

They agreed. You know why? Because I said: “You agree.”

How would you comment on the fact that Russia violated the ceasefire?

We need to go and look, because there were violations on both sides.

Zelensky said he supported the energy truce, and Putin did not. Your message to Putin?

I think they both supported it. I think they want to make a deal, but they don’t know how. But we’ll sit them down.

But we have heard nothing from Putin.

We’ll see what happens.

What is your response to Republicans’ criticism of your diesel deal with Russia?

I doubt they’re serious. We produce a lot of oil. We can restrict oil, but the whole world will suffer badly. This deal is not for me, it’s a deal for the whole world. I like anything that helps our farmers. Zelensky should make a deal, not talk about a deal.

How are you going to make Putin observe the ceasefire?

I think Putin wants to make a deal, and we need to make Zelensky make a deal. Where are you from?

Poland.

I supported your president. And he won.

Where do you see his [Putin’s] readiness, when he is striking Ukraine?

I think they’ll make a deal. I think Putin actually wants to make a deal more than Zelensky does.

A Ceasefire Built on Assertion

Trump said both sides agreed because he said so.

Diplomacy replaced reality with volume again.
