Kyiv Has Run Out of Missiles for Patriot Air Defense Systems — CNN

A source familiar with the situation told the outlet about this. According to the source, almost none of the ballistic missiles in the latest attack were intercepted “because of a shortage of interceptor missiles.”

On the night of October 14, three power plants in Kyiv, as well as energy infrastructure facilities in Kharkiv, came under attack from Russian ballistic missiles. Four people were killed in Kyiv that day, and another 25 were wounded.

On October 15, Volodymyr Zelensky told the Financial Times that Ukraine would resume strikes on Russian oil refineries because Moscow had continued its attacks during the three days that Kyiv refrained from striking at the United States’ request.

At the same time, Zelensky suggested that he could soften his position in exchange for additional deliveries of missiles for Patriot systems.

A Strike Pause Did Not Restock Defenses

Kyiv lacked Patriot interceptors during the latest ballistic missile attack.

Another request to wait replaced actual deliveries.
