Classes were canceled at some schools and kindergartens in the Ryazan region due to drone attacks, the governor said

The Ryazan oil refinery caught fire in a drone attack, and a warehouse belonging to another enterprise was damaged, Governor Pavel Malkov said.

Earlier, Zelensky said in an interview with the Financial Times that strikes on oil refineries had resumed.

Kyiv resumed strikes on Russian oil refineries after a three-day pause announced at the request of the United States. According to the Ukrainian president, the Russian military continued attacking Ukraine’s energy infrastructure, so “the ban on strikes against oil refineries has been lifted. We’re done.”

Zelensky also accused Washington of pressuring Kyiv. According to him, U.S. military officials warned their Ukrainian counterparts that intelligence sharing could be halted if attacks on Russian energy facilities continued. Zelensky claims that during the latest attacks, Ukraine received no warnings about ballistic missile launches, while Starlink slowdowns complicated Ukrainian Armed Forces operations.

The Ukrainian president rejected the explanation that technical problems were to blame: “It was not a technical problem, but political will.” He also said he would agree to a new pause in strikes on Russian energy infrastructure only in exchange for additional U.S. interceptor missiles for Patriot systems.

A Three-Day Pause Ends at the Refinery

After a three-day pause, a drone strike set the Ryazan refinery on fire.

The pause protected the calendar, not the refinery.
