US lawmakers have introduced a bill intended to block Trump’s “diesel deal” with Putin

A bill “to prohibit corrupt oil deals with Russia” has been introduced in the US House of Representatives.

The bill was introduced by Democratic Congressman Gregory Meeks and co-sponsored by 16 other Democrats and Republican Don Bacon.

The description says the bill is intended “to block President Trump’s corrupt deal with Vladimir Putin to purchase and import Russian diesel fuel.”

“This deal will not lower costs for Americans, who are already paying the price for Trump’s failed war of choice against Iran. It will give Putin millions of dollars that will allow him to continue killing Ukrainian civilians with impunity,” Meeks said.

The congressman added that “Trump is cozying up to Putin and making deals for his own enrichment instead of supporting Ukraine.”
