Trump declined to impose “sanctions from hell” on Russia

U.S. President Donald Trump declined to implement most of the measures stipulated by the “sanctions from hell” law.

The corresponding executive order was published by the White House.

According to the document, the United States will not impose 100% tariffs on the largest importers of Russian oil and gas, nor will it impose a 500% tariff on Russian goods.

Implementation of the sanctions is suspended until the U.S. president or secretary of state decides otherwise.

Trump’s executive order separately stipulates that all existing sanctions against Russia will remain in place.
