TikToker Ivan Zolo was detained during a concert in Donetsk. Masked security officers led him straight off the stage

TikToker and musician Ivan Zolo (real name Ivan Zolochevsky) was detained at a concert in annexed Donetsk on the evening of October 17. A video circulated on Telegram channels showing security officers in helmets and masks leading him away in the middle of his performance.

Zolo resurfaced a couple of hours later. According to him, the reason for his detention was a T-shirt bearing “banned Satanist symbols” that he had bought in 2022 and shown in his videos. “I fully admitted my guilt in this situation. I undertake to delete all videos related to these items and to dispose of the T-shirt,” Zolo said. He did not specify whether an official report had been filed against him.

In the summer of 2025, Russia’s Supreme Court banned the nonexistent “International Satanism Movement.” Displaying the movement’s symbols may result in either administrative or criminal liability. In the spring of 2026, a Voronezh resident was sentenced to one year of correctional labor for a selfie in a hat and hoodie featuring a pentagram.
