Russian Deputy Foreign Minister Sergei Ryabkov said that Russia and the United States are discussing the release of prisoners.
Dialogue is underway through the intelligence channels. The relevant agencies are in contact,
he said (quoted by TASS).
🔴Earlier, journalist Simon Shuster wrote in an article for The Atlantic that Donald Trump supported the idea of easing sanctions against Russia in exchange for the release of Russian political prisoners.
The Kremlin later said that there are supposedly no political prisoners in Russia and that it had not discussed this issue with the United States.
Trump's special envoy for Belarus, John Coale, said on Dozhd's broadcast that the United States is beginning to “work on the issue” of Russian political prisoners.
