Leningrad Oblast will extend its ban on foreigners working in taxis and introduce restrictions on work in food service

In Leningrad Oblast, migrants with work patents will be banned from working at food-service businesses that prepare food for state and municipal institutions or operate on their premises, reports Bumaga.

This is stated in a draft resolution by the region’s governor. The explanatory note claims that the restrictions will reduce the number of road accidents and “prevent an influx of migrants into the regional labor market.”

The outlet recalls that Leningrad Oblast has extended its ban on foreigners working in taxis annually since 2024. Since autumn 2025, St. Petersburg has had a ban on working in taxis and delivery services.
