⭐️ Students at at least 40 educational institutions in Russia are being mass-recruited to manufacture combat drones, Vot Tak has found

This is not just about assembling UAVs: at some universities and technical colleges, students themselves print parts for munitions and configure software. At others, they upgrade drones to make them more lethal.

Sometimes Russian security services “keep an eye on” the students there. Drone developer Sergei Berstnev told Vot Tak about this.

💬 “If you start showing your f\\\ing face, we’ll beat the s\\\ out of you too,” he quotes the security officers as saying.

At some universities, students are paid for working with UAVs. For example, those under Rostec’s wing receive a corporate scholarship of 30,000 to 55,000 rubles ($367–$672). But some students assemble instruments of killing “out of vocation and enthusiasm,” or for the chance to leave classes early.
