“They are Kremlin political managers” — T-invariant deputy editor-in-chief on training “social architects” at Russian universities

Russian universities have introduced master’s programs in “social architecture” which, according to Yevgeny Nasyrov, deputy editor-in-chief of T-invariant, are intended to train specialists for domestic political projects in the absence of competitive elections.

They are Kremlin political managers who have begun to be trained at leading universities, while traditional master’s programs in political science are being abolished,

Nasyrov said on Dozhd’s broadcast.

According to Nasyrov, the programs are overseen by the presidential administration. Their essence is work on “social” projects — from traffic rules for schoolchildren to everything related to the war. At a day for political consultants in the Central Federal District, examples included a “safety school for young passengers” on a slide about what strategists do “between and apart from elections.”

One idea is that, generally speaking, there are no elections, but [political] strategists remain, and they have to do something,

Nasyrov explained.

A Master’s Degree Without Elections

Universities opened social-architecture programs instead of political science, Nasyrov says.

No elections, but the strategists still need training.
