Russia’s Prosecutor General’s Office has decided to create a “special personnel reserve” from participants in the war. They will be appointed to leadership positions
The Prosecutor General’s Office has proposed creating a “special personnel reserve” from prosecutors who took part in the war against Ukraine—they will be appointed as prosecutors and department heads as a priority. This is stated in a draft order by the agency that «Verstka» noticed.
According to the document, those who went to war will gain the right to a number of senior posts. These include, in particular, the positions of heads of main directorates, directorates, and departments at the Prosecutor General’s Office, prosecutors of Russia’s constituent entities and their deputies. The list also includes the positions of city and district prosecutors, assistant prosecutors, heads of directorates and departments, and their deputies in the offices of prosecutors’ offices of Russia’s constituent entities.
Another clause of the draft order emphasizes that when selecting candidates, consideration will be given not only to “readiness for transfer to service in another locality,” but also, among other things, to territories where a “special legal regime” is in force.
In addition, a new clause is being added to the Prosecutor General’s order “On the Main Directions of Personnel Work.” It states that those serving in the prosecutor’s offices of the occupied “DPR,” “LPR,” Zaporizhzhia, and Kherson regions “are subject to priority consideration for appointment to leadership positions in the aforementioned and other prosecutor’s offices of Russia’s constituent entities and equivalent specialized prosecutor’s offices.”
