Despite the fact that the Russian government regularly reports launching employment programs for those returning from the war, most “SVO heroes” remain unemployed.

Those returning from the front and their relatives are complaining en masse that the state provides no help whatsoever in finding work. On paper, everything works; millions are allocated to various projects such as “Time of Heroes,” but in reality support literally has to be “pried out,” writes Vyorstka.

Employers deliberately reject candidates whose résumés mention participation in the “SVO.” They especially avoid disabled former servicemen, and there may be tens of thousands of them (the “I Want to Return” project database alone currently contains nearly 140,000 records of wounded Russian servicemen):

“Rather than viewing servicemen as valuable ‘heroes,’ employers appear to see voluntary participants as risky or morally compromised”

According to official data from Rostrud, employment services prepared 449,000 vacancies for former “SVO participants” in 2025. At the same time, only 7,800(!) war participants managed to find employment.

How can one not recall our warning from three years ago. The “Motherland” will abandon you, son. In any situation. Do not doubt it for a second.

The heroes got statistics; the rest stayed in the report.
