“Not everyone is capable of understanding and feeling real art” — the author of the song “You’re My Scumbag!” comments on the ban on the track

Roskomnadzor, at the request of the Federal Agency for Youth Affairs, has blocked the AI track “You’re My Scumbag!” in Russia. A corresponding notice appears when users try to play the song on Yandex Music.

The song’s author, DJ NARODNII, told Ostorozhno, Novosti that he had received no warning about its removal and found out when he checked music platforms.

Of course I disagree with the block. By that logic, they should block every song with any swear words. If you watch the video, follow the plot and understand the context, everything falls into place — why it’s this particular song and these particular words. But I’m OK with it; many great creators have been criticized for their work. Not everyone is capable of understanding and feeling real art; it’s like a niche perfume with complex notes,

he said, commenting on Roskomnadzor’s decision.

He also promised to release new tracks soon.
