Court begins bankruptcy proceedings against gas station company owned by Putin's child's godfatherThe Moscow Arbitration Court has begun bankruptcy proceedings against Tradeproject, a company owned by Viktor Medvedchuk, the godfather of Putin's child, which owns the Signal and LTK gas station chains. Verstka found the relevant decision in the court's records.

The court placed Tradeproject under supervision, the first stage of bankruptcy, during which an interim administrator must examine the company's documents and financial condition.

The bankruptcy proceedings were initiated by Credit Bank of Moscow (MKB). According to court documents, in February 2024 Tradeproject took out a loan of 2.02 billion rubles from the bank, pledging its property as collateral.

The documents do not disclose exactly how the company breached its obligations. But according to financial statements, the combined losses of Medvedchuk's firm for 2024 and 2025 exceeded 746 million rubles.

MKB went to court in June this year. The bank's total claims against Tradeproject amounted to 2.684 billion rubles, of which 664 million rubles was interest on the loan.

MKB's owner, billionaire Sergei Sudarikov, is himself closely connected to the Medvedchuk family. In 2019, Sergei Medvedchuk, the brother of Putin's child's godfather, was appointed adviser to the CEO of Sudarikov's Rossium group. Alexei Inkin, a senior manager at Sudarikov's company, also posed as the owner of Medvedchuk's yacht Royal Romance, which was detained in Croatia after the war began in 2022. In addition, Medvedchuk's daughter wrote her graduation thesis at the Higher School of Economics about Credit Bank of Moscow.

🩵Tradeproject owns the Signal and LTK gas station chains, which operate in the Tyumen, Kurgan, Lipetsk and Voronezh regions. In the fall of 2025, they experienced a gasoline shortage amid Ukrainian drone strikes on oil refineries.
