Artur is a 35-year-old freelance designer and artist from Samara. He cared for homeless animals that needed special attention and treatment. At the time of his arrest, two cats he had rescued from the streets lived with him.

Artur cares deeply about what is happening in Russia, and for many years he openly opposed the authorities’ actions. His close relatives lived in Ukraine, and after the full-scale invasion began, he spoke out directly against the war.

In October 2026, it emerged that a criminal case had been opened against Artur under two criminal statutes: incitement to extremism and incitement to terrorism. The case was prompted by negative comments about “OMON officers” that he had posted in private Telegram chats. Investigators believe Artur incited hatred against members of the security forces. He faces up to 10 years in prison.

Artur has health problems and needs medical care, which he cannot receive in pretrial detention. In addition, he has been in a severe psychological state since being taken into custody. He urgently needs support now.
