FSB has detained 56 users of Daivinchik aged 1... since July last year
The FSB has detained 56 users of Daivinchik, aged 12 to 24, since July last year.
The agency claims the young people acted under pressure from Ukrainian intelligence services. According to the FSB, the perpetrators met them through the bot, posed as FSB or Rosfinmonitoring officers, and persuaded them to commit arson. The detentions took place in Moscow, St. Petersburg, and the Leningrad, Ryazan, Sverdlovsk and Omsk regions.
Between August and September this year, another 10 people were detained, including eight teenagers aged 14 to 17. According to investigators, one of them set fire to gas stations in St. Petersburg and the Leningrad region on the instructions of a person he contacted after meeting a girl on Daivinchik. Two other minors, both girls, were similarly drawn into setting fire to a gas station and official vehicles near a police station, the FSB claims. They are charged under Article 205 of the Russian Criminal Code, which covers acts of terrorism.
